The Mermaid Baby Bag keeps baby’s legs and feet snug and warm in the pram or infant car seat. The bag comes with a foldable wavy border, using the familiar feather and fan stitch, and an opening at the hem. These details let the bag keep step with baby’s growth.
Skills you need: Knitting with double pointed needles, knit, increase (in cluding knitting on stitches), decreases and change of colors. Being a small project the pattern serves as an opportunity to pick up one of these techniques new.

The colors chosen are intentionally gender-neutral. But naturally you can choose other colors as well. Emphasize the mermaid theme by using turquoise, blue, pink or purple, if you like. The Mermaid Baby Bag is worked in stockinette stitch from top to bottom in rounds. The optional wavy border is worked separately and can be sewn to the main body when baby has grown a bit. For the tail you tie the flared hem together with a tie.
